Default Have asked before, but what is causing my over revving/rev hold.

Hey,
I have asked this before, but i have not had a solution as yet.

I have recently had some trouble with my throttle not working, so i thought this was associated to the problem but it seems that now that issue is fixed, this one still persists.

So basically, the car likes to either hold the revs or keep revving higher for a second after i let off the throttle.

I know its not normal, because when the car is cold, it does not seem to do it. It just dips straight back down as normal.
I have driven many cars too, so i can just tell that its not right.

I have checked my Synergy and Maf to see if they were causing it. But it still does it when i have unplugged the Maf and have unplugged the Synergy 2 (completely, not just on bypass).

Not sure where to look next to be honest.
Car was on the t4 recently when looking at the pedal, and there were no error codes....

thanks

Lol...
no one knows.
I shall have to try stuff out and see what happens.

I dont like that it happens because i feel its wearing my clutch prematurely.
Like if i never lifted off the pedal at all when i change gear....that would bad...

now i have to lift off the accelerator...wait....then dip the clutch and engage the new gear...
Its the only way to drive at the moment....and it's frustrating..

Does the engine run on at all when you switch it off? If so the HP fuel pressure sensor may not be reading correctly and the rail fuel pressure is too high.

No it does not run on at all.
I will be changing the HP fuel reg anyway because mine has the dreaded drone of some of the facelifts.
So i will see if that helps....

but no....not running on at all.

There is a clutch switch under the pedal which provides surge damping during gear changes .
But as being a hall effect system,no easy to check...

ok, just to be sure here,

The surging happens even if i dont touch the clutch....

It happens if i just let off the accelerator in gear....say whilst slowing down using engine braking. I let off the accellerator, and the car revs stay up (although not the same as throttle on exactly), before then starting to come down after about a second.

you know that rocking forward feeling you get when you let off the accelerator from the shift of weight from back to front....well that doesn't happen until a second or more after i lift off..

its really odd

Does it happen at relatively low revs or high ones, just wondering if the valve on the turbo is sticking slightly

after changing the throttle pedal you need to calibate it ,i believe it is done by pressing the throttle down times ,i know for sure that phil knows the correct procedure also i would remove the ppe coming up from the air box to the throttle body and give te butterfly a good clean

Op has a diesel Chrissyboy so no throttle body or butterfly. (Come to think of it no throttle!)
