Medion/Navman satnav's
After having a hire car on holiday abroad this year with satnav I've decided to take the plunge and buy one. There are two deals on next week: Costco's Navman S80 deluxe at £117 and Aldi's Medion £129 with both offering 4.3 screens, UK and Euro mapping, traffic master (with Aldi that's free) plus other features. Anyone had any experience of these and any good?
What's the score with the TCM antenna - is that integral or is it something that needs sticking to the roof!? |

I've heard Aldi's Medion units are fairly decent for the price, but don't have any experience with either brands. I personally use a TomTom and find it easy to use and fast to recalculate routes.
No idea about the TCM antenna sorry. |

Medion is an aldi brand but usually (98%) renowned companies behind, e.g. if aldi offer desk top pcs, it's often fujitsu siemens or better.
right now, i cannot tell you the pros/cons of the s80 and medion's offer. if it's not urgent i can research for you with the adac (the german equivalent to the british AA). maybe, there are other possibilities to compare these two nav sys. tcm is a great thing if you have it (my rover has a lowline nav, so comes w/o tcm but nevertheless always arrived at the desired destination same day ) |
