Tourer Cross Bars
Looking in getting cross bars and bolting one of them plastic boxes to put cases and suchlike in. For security they need to be the lockable type. Do any members have any suggestions? What is best. What are a load of sweetbreads. Are genuine better than universal? You get the idea what I'm asking.

Roof Bars
I bought Thule cross bars for my tourer at nearly half the price of Rover O/E. (from local A1 motor store)

I got mine (with keys) from a Fiat estate (the ex-owner being my boss) £25. Perfect fit

I use the universal ones made by Paddy Hopkirk, you can buy locks for them at extra cost, but still cheaper. Not had any problems with them and, as they only get an airing a couple of times a year I dont see the point in paying top dollar prices.

I use the Thule Aerobars with the fittings for roof rails on my tourer. The shape of the bars makes them quieter than square section bars and the Thule roof boxes fit on very easily. Fully lockable and easy to fit.
