No just an enthusiastic amateur. I do other peoples cars, but the ability to do it at home is limited due to parking arrangements.

Default Better now

Washed, clayed, glazed and waxed - that was a lot of work; but very happy with the results.
Thanks for all the advice.

Default Go On Then.................

tell us what you used. Looks good BTW, Guy (for a silver car)
Appropriate to my forum name, I use Mer. Very old fashioned, I know. I might try something else in a few years time when the bottle runs out. Your wheels don't look like they're Liquid Silver. Have they been re-painted?

On the advice of RovexCDT (top man):

Pressure wash, water only, to remove 'lumps' etc
Wash with Meguiars Gold.
Clay bar - what a revelation just how much filth remained.
Wash again with Meguiars Gold.
Primo Amigo glaze.
KP1000 wax.

I have to admit I forgot to remove the 'tar spots' - and forgot to do the mirror covers!!

Being a cynic about 'new fangled' things - I did the roof differently, just wash and wax (the old way); there is a tremendous difference!! My friend who is a member of 'The Lagonda Club' reckoned the finish (on the properly done parts) was the best finish he'd seen/ touched in ages and has 'borrowed' my stuff!!!

Another great discovery was the 'wash mitt' - how much easier is that!!

The wheels - they were so bad when I bought the car I was going to buy new ones; but the tyre man rubbed them down, Polyester filled them and sprayed with Autoglym 'Wheel Silver'; and I actually like them.
