Default Numberplate LED's

Installed LED number plate bulbs. On lights on and startup a " failure" is shown. When driving away after about 5 seconds the "failure" goes off. Comes on again on start up and then as per described. Car is December 2004 MGZT KV6 Sport SE + etc. Opinions/explanations.The LED's dont claim to be canbus/etc and are from Classic Car LEDs Ltd, Tenbury Wells. Chris S.

Likely due to not being canbus’proof’. Some can us proof ones will do this too, sometimes you have to search till you find a set that the car likes

Definitely due to non CANBUS bulbs. I had the same result when I went down the LED route. I had to buy ones that were advertised accordingly before the car accepted them.

If you're ever midlands way give me a shout and I can disable the hot and cold monitoring of those bulbs for you so you won't get the annoying popup.

Update on this subject, I obtained two led bulbs from Argo City Ltd they are 32mm and have a flat rectangular board in which the leds are set with the two caps as per normal, they are therefor one sided. I fitted them and no "bulb failure" display so I am very happy. Chris.S.

Do you have a link, please? I’m also after a couple of sets. Thanks.
