Default Clutch fluid squirt

I have taken out the condom in the clutch master cylinder so I can put a lot more fluid in as there is a very slight weap on the master cylinder. Every few weeks the clutch fluid will squirt out of the hole in the cap on the cylinder and make a right mess. Is this expected as I have removed the condom so no longer sealed? Was thinking I could some how seal the hole in the cap but not sure how.

No you cannot seal it, it needs to be able to breath.

It should never squirt out, but I cannot immediately thing of any fault which would cause it to.

Fix a poor handbrake; DIY ABS diagnostic unit; Loan of the spanner needed to change the CDT belts; free OBD diagnostics +MAF; Correct Bosch MAF cheap; DVB-T install in an ex-hi-line system; DD install with a HK amp; FBH servicing.

I've taken a vow of poverty. To annoy me, send money.

The hole in the cap is a vent. This allows the piston to displace fluid from reservoir into the clutch operating system (and back) without changing the air pressure in the reservoir. When the pedal is pressed down, excess fluid is circulated rapidly back into the reservoir. This is why the cap may eject some fluid without the diaphragm in place. I think it will only happen at low fluid levels since the feedback hole is in the base. The only way to stop that happening is to refit the diaphragm. Though manually refilling the reservoir means it's no longer hermetically sealed, the condom is best left in place. Some owners just use the rubber flange as a cap washer, but I guess this won't stop it leaking through the vent.

I have just read that this can be expected if the condom is cut away, the condom seals it air tight so i should think sealing the hole would be the same

So would you say fill it up completely to stop it squirting out the cap?

Is the cap squirting fluid when the level is at the top/max?

EDIT: Er, it's worth topping right up to check. Imagine a fine jet of fluid entering the bottom of the reservoir.

In the below post (link) you will see the cap has no hole in, so assume this maybe is ok after all if I sealed off the hole?

Mine is filled all the way, as much as I can get in it - using that fact that it spills over the lip as an indication that it is full.Once the lid is on, I've not seen any appear out of the breather. That after all is the idea of cutting the diaphram, to be able to get more in.

I cannot really see how putting less in - might cause it to squirt out of the hole.
