Captain Tom Moore

There's a petition going on to try and get him a knighthood, after he raised £15M for the NHS. I've already signed it.

Me too, I just feel sad that an old boy who has already done his bit for the country has to do this.
Governments should be ensuring our nhs has what funding it needs. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

My daughter said similar, but he didn’t have to do it, he just wanted to do something to say thank you for his fantastic care.

On a point of accuracy, it is not for the NHS as the NHS itself, but it is for the Charities run by various NHS units.
These charities support the local NHS units and provide items and support for things outside the national NHS provision. I would not expect the National Government to supply everything that the charities cover. The UK does spend all it can afford on the NHS, maybe not enough but it all has to be paid for via taxation. Increase in VED anyone? |
