Default Can anybody recommend some brushes for nooks and crannies?

As titled - could anybody please recommend some brushes for cleaning the nooks and crannies on the car?

I am mainly thinking about around the chrome trim, window seals etc.

My car is 'slightly filthy' and so some green growths need to be removed

Several years ago I tried old toothbrushes for these areas but ended up marking the paintwork so I thought it best to ask folks who know what they are doing!

Cheers, Bolin

It's unlikely to help with the greenery, but once you've got the car nice and clean, for future maintenance I find the best solution is a set of makeup brushes from the local pound shop. Much cheaper than dedicated "detailing" brushes, but do just as good a job.

For the green mould, I would try giving it a good soaking with a pre-wash (snow foam or similar) to soften it up, then follow with a paint brush fully loaded with a good quality apc. As you've already discovered though, be careful with the paintwork.

I quite like THESE. Use one regularly for around the 'corners' of the wheels and their bolt recesses.

Every so often, Lidl do a pack of brushes, which include sash brashes, made from wood and plastic. They would be 'adequate' but the bristles do fall out readily, however they are very soft in use.

Many thanks for the replies chaps - I actually ordered some cheap make-up brushes after Cliff's reply, so I'll see how I get on with those. If I find they don't do it for me then I'll explore the other options linked.
