Alternator issue
Hi all
My charge warning light has come on and multimeter suggests alternator is producing considerable changes in voltage. This seems to point to alternator malfunction. I have the chance at a cheap 120amp alternator, but I'm not sure if mine has 2 or 3 pin plug. Does it matter? Car is 2002 cdt. p.s. can't check as car is roadside and I'm past getting under the bonnet! Thanks Geoff |

yes it does matter. I'm not sure either one is interchangeable.

You can fit a three pin alternator onto a two pin harness.
