My first Capri was a 1.6 Laser, then moved to a 2.0 S, 2.8 Injection special and finally a 280 Brookands which luckily i never sold. My Favourite European car is the Capri

My latest Capri restoration has taken a back seat with the passing of my father, but I'm hoping the Capri will be finished this weekend, its just a shame my father will not get to see the Capri in all its glory.

My father came to visit me just a few weeks ago before he died, I had the Capri in bits at the time, we talked about the good old days of how easy it was to work on the Ford Pinto engines. We remembered the time I blew-up my old 1979 2.0 Capri back in the early 90's, we swapped the engine over one morning and I was back on the road by the afternoon, great times.

A pic of how she is looking just a few days ago, not long now until she is all finished and ready to rock-n-roll.

I’m sure your dad will be watching over the progress with the Capri Wes, and give you his sign of approval once it is done.

I had a mk2 1.6GL , but with the 2.0 lump in it,same colour as yours but with a black vinyl roof SJR430S , changed the gearbox in it ,took about an hour. The joys of simple engines.

It must be true, I am going through a midlife crisis, but I don't care, life is too short, lets have some fun.

I'm hitting the open road and forgetting ones age, I just need to remember my way back.
