Take it steady Rich, we are here when you need to have a chat, all the best mate, try not to stress out too much as that will only compound the situation.

The stressful time will be if and when the time comes, as next of kin, other than my mum, who wouldn't be able to do anything, everything falls on my shoulders.
I have done this before with my dad almost 3 years ago, but his was simple as he had nowt .

Yes Richard, I know how you feel, its a difficult time but unfortunately you have to get on and do it, the stress tends to hit you when its all done and dusted, I kept busy to keep my mind occupied..

You know where we are if you need to talk Rich. What happened with my folks was extremely shocking but at least we didn't have to watch them going downhill, well, we did to some extent with my father.

I know what you're saying about people who abuse their bodies. My father kept himself fit, walked the dog (for miles) every day, cycled along for his morning paper, weather permitting, still didn't stop him being felled by a terminal stroke.

It comes to all of us in time Richard and it is good that your mum and your aunt have someone like you to be there for them and to help before and after. Head up, and best foot forward.

But hey, in order to help others don't neglect yourself because if you don't look after yourself first you might not have the health or ability to give to others.

Morning Folks,

Off to Norfolk this morning (batten down the hatches) but won't be stopping today.
Will be dropping the boat keys off to the mechanic who will be installing the new turbo to the port side engine on Friday and a few other jobs.

I'll be back up on the Friday afternoon after work as well along with my Dad.
We will then be spending the weekend taking 'Lady Emma' out on some speed runs/shake down tests across Breydon Water and mooring up for the night on Saturday at the Surlingham Ferry Inn for replenishments

Cool

I know what you are going through Richard. But someone has to pick up the pieces and try and make the picture perfect again. I’m afraid my magic wand is broken.

You have lots of friends on here, need to bend someone’s ear whatever the time of day or night then they are just a phone call away, even me.

You need to keep on top of your health in between, not easy I know.

Morning all, dry, little bit of sun, and slightly over cast here. Thanks for all the kind wishes, will do my best.. I took mum in to see her yesterday, as they hadn’t seen each other for around 6 weeks, they had spoken on the phone a few times though. They only live about a mile apart but with mum being housebound unless she has someone else with her, she hasn’t been able to visit, also my aunt hasn’t been well enough to have many visitors. I am lucky that they both have a HUGE circle of friends from their church, who have been absolute diamonds in taking her to and from appointments and staying with her when she was having treatment. They all continue this support while she is in hospital, without them I would struggle to cope with the appointments and trying to work.
