mg-zt 2.5 multi changer
just started to put a few things right on my rover mg-zt, first little job was to sort out the cd player in the glove box, there seemed to be no power to the multi changer, it was coming up with " no magazine " on the screen, i removed the multi player and took the top off it, had a quick spy about and nothing looked out of place, the magazine would not release at all, found what looked like the cd arm and so turned the big cog that it is attached to with my fingers, got it to move, reconnected the wires while it was on the floor of the car, and i heard it trying to move, seemed stuck, finally i got the mag out of the machine, i then used wd 40 on all the moving parts, let it stand for 10 mins, then disconnected the multi plug and connected again and again and finally it seemed to work ok, i then blew out all the excess wd with my compressor, put the top back on then replaced it into the glove box, it accepted the mag no problem, went through cd check, then started playing the cd as normal, rechecked to make sure it would select all cd's and play them all, everything is now working fine, this worked for me but it's up to you if your is not working and want to try what i did

That's just about what I did. The grease inside was solid and had gummed up the wheels and moving parts/sliders etc. I washed it off, applied white silicone grease and then it worked straight away and is still going a year after.
