Default Chrome insert on front bumper of Rover 75 2001

To replace a damaged chrome insert on Bumper of a Rover 75 2001 is it just a pull to remove and a push to refit?

if its anything like the rear on my car then ideally its a when the bumper is off job. the strip has integral clips ( one way - almost ). On mine I thought i was going to damage the bumper tugging at the strip it hence removing bumper to properly disengage the clips. Some peeps have mentioned using a suitable tool to depress the clips ( from the strip side iirc) but they aren't easy to see or get at.

No, you need to remove the bumper, on the back of the chrome trim, inside of the bumper ,there are tabs, that you squeeze together and then push out the trim,. Usually they can just be done with your fingers, but if they're really tight use pliers to squeeze the tab, then push the trim outwards.
