navall 3 install
I recently bought a used navall 3 from a ztt enthusiast. It is coming by post next week. I had a single din kenwood factory stereo before with steering wheel controls. Do i need a special connector to connect the navall 3 to the car's wiring loom or is it just plug and play?

It should have the ISO adapter, and that's all you need.

If you had the Kenwood factory fit unit you will need to remove the infra red module behind the unit.
There is a cable going to it that you will need to cut. In it you will find three wires, black, blue/purple and green/white. The green/white cable you need to insulate up and is not used, the other two you will need to connect to the orange and the black wires which are going to the red connector (which you cut off) on the Navall3 loom. It does not matter which way round these go. That should allow your steering wheel controls to work

i have installed the Navall 3 yesterday. I also had the Digital tv receiver and front facing camera installed. I must say it is a wonderful piece of gadget with half the price of similar spec branded ones!
i managed to connect it to the steering wheel controls as well. Thank you Coolcat! the only problem i have encountered is that you have to remove or cut a little piece of plastic from the mounting on the dash where the unit is to be attached with two screws as it is fouling the unit mounts. |

DO people remove that kenwood IR unit because of a fitment issue with the replacement double din, or just to remove the module as its not required?
I was hoping to use the bracket to mount the GPS antenna on.... |

The GPS antenna should be magnetic, just put it on the tube that runs through the dash visible once you have removed the radio.

Once it's out why bother putting back the mount if you don't need it? If it's a generic DD unit that you're fitting then I would also use the XTRONS MG7 fascia adapter rather than the CT23RO01. IMHO this is the best fascia adaptor for a double-din unit in the 75/ZT:- XTRONS ICE/ACS/11-577 Here is one fitted to my ZT-T with a Kenwood DNX-7200 installed:-
