If they were just to sit under the buckles, wouldn’t they be sown into the bottom of the hole? They are covers for the buckles when not in use I think. I have used them for that purpose.

The flaps should be under the buckles......that way they don't disappear under the seat cushion.

They create a little shelf for the buckles to sit on.

Are those little covers meant to go over or under the buckles? I always thought they were to go underneath.

When I found those flaps in mine, I did the same thing and put them on the outside. Nobody ever gets in the back of my car anyway.

No, they are fitted like that to allow the rear seat squab to be both fitted and removed.

They were designed to be fitted under the seatbelt buckles, but of course it's your car and you can have them any way you prefer.
