Default Flexible fingered Halfords lady

A few weeks ago, as the winter nights drew in, and driving in the dark became a regular occurrence I decided that negotiating country roads based more on remembering where the bends were than actually being able to see anything was a bad idea. I have a Club 75 with the basic headlights and any ideas about upgrading to Xenon was vetoed by the wife on the grounds of wanting money for heating and food instead of essential Rover goodies. Time for plan B. Halfords 100% brighter dip bulbs and " would you like us to fit them sir" Yes please I said thinking they'll give up when they see how awkward they are! But no! A few minutes later the lady fitter returned to the shop saying "all done". I was well impressed and have been enjoying my 100% brighter dips until yesterday when a sidelight bulb failed. Today, feeling confident, I went to change my sidelight bulb because it was the passenger side which is a bit easier than the drivers side. To my intense disappointment I discovered my 100% brighter bulb sitting in the bulb holder at a jaunty 45 degree angle held in by luck and a complete disregard for gravity. The rubber cover protecting the back of the bulbs is somewhere between Halfords and everywhere I've been since. So, thanks Halfords lady, lesson learnt Halfords are as rubbish as everyone says. And if you have read this all the way to here you could have done a bulb change yourself by now! Happy Rovering! Regards Graham

That's really kind Dave. I did them ok after a short struggle. Regarding the rubber cover,
luckily my 90 year old Mum has a garage full of 75 spares. Regards Graham

Easier to remove the front bumber & take the headlight off - not difficult or time cinsuming.

Soon I'll find repose

And then I'll hold you in my dreams
