Valentino Rossi: Nine-time world champion to retire at end of 2021 MotoGP season
423 Moto GP starts
9 titles
115 wins
235 podiums

The "Doctor" has kept me entertained since 1996 and I wish him a long and happy retirement

Its the right time for him to hang up his helmet, he's not really done anything this season or last season for that matter.

I was in Rome in the late 90's, went into a souvenir shop to buy a Rossi shirt for my lad, I was treated like royalty as they couldn't believe an Englishman would support him!

+1 for a happy retirement for him, any rider that can have a full career and get to retire has done very well indeed.

The guy is a true sporting legend.

How many can say that every circuit they go to is their "home" race .

Hope he has a very long and very "Haaaappppyyyy" retirement.

He's about the only name I recognise these days as I don't follow it like I used to in the early days on Eurosport ,listening to Toby Moody & Julian Ryder commentating was always fun.

The guy is an absolute legend and has progressed the sport massively over the the years.

I'm what you would call a Rossi fan boy, totally love the bloke, his attitude, his style.

His legacy isn't just going to be what he's done on track, it's going to be things like the VR46 Rider accademy and the Moto Ranch.
