Made my day.
Just pulling into the doctors' car park yesterday, a lady walking by stopped and waited until I opened the car door. "What a lovely car," she said.
When I told her it was almost 20 years old, she said, "and it looks so new" It definitely made my day. Terry |

Cars of this era look ten times better than the ugly rubbish being churned out today -and sadly I include the MG ZS in that - good value in clumsy clothes!

Recently gave the neighbour a lift and she was astonished at both the age and look of the car.
"Its like a Rolls" she said ( she does own a Fiesta TBF!) "its mint for a 17 year old car" That's a Manc expression for excellent!!! Made my day as well!!! |

I've never had any complements about mine in the 6 years I've owned it, until last week when someone walked up to me in BP and asked if I wanted to sell it

Last week, when I came out of a shop, an oldish geezer made his way towards me in his jaaaaggg. (Think it may have been an XJ, but not 100%)🤔
He had waited outside the shop, just to compliment the 75 (marmite), adding how under rated the cars were and how he had always wanted one. We then spent the best part of an hour chatting about 75s, jags, and life in general! He was an interesting chap who had a hard time of it in latter years (health wise). My 20 year old son is introducing a younger audience to the charms of the ZT.
They have all been impressed by it when they see it and more so when they have a ride in it. Even his new work colleagues who were turning their nose up at the MG badge, changed their tune once they had seen it up close and been out in it. |

Twice in thirty minutes.
0900 - I was outside in the street washing one of the fleet when a guy walking his dog, as they do, stopped and commented on what a lovely car it was, and that it would be worth a lot of money in ten years time.
0930 - after making a delivery to next door but two the driver stopped and was full of admiration for it, said he once had one, how good the diesel engine was and that he had a mate in the trade who only deals in older cars such as this. He then told me of a trader in Birmimgham who took a nice 75 in as part ex then sent it straight to the crusher. |

I parked beside a 2.5 V6 52 registration saloon in the Morrisons car park yesterday. The owner wasn't looking to buy a 75 but an elderly neighbour gave up driving and offered it to him for nothing, having owned it from new. That was two years ago and the current owner said it is the best car he has ever had and nothing had gone wrong with it in two years. He was not even a car enthusiast.
