Default Faulty maf?

The blue one feels sluggish when accelerating, more so now than it did before, missus also said when she was following me the car was chucking out a bit of smoke, only when I was accelerating tho, not excessive but enough.
The car also seems very reluctant to rev cleanly and smoothly in any gear, especially if I try going over 2500 rpm, is this the sign of a failed maf?
Thanks.

Hi David.
Unplug the MAF and see if it makes a difference, what colour was the smoke ? and how much.

This is a useful mod to do

Hi Steve,
My missus said it was black, far from excessive but it smoked, and only when I accelerated hard.

David.
Check intercooler hose, and the O-rings just in case there is a tiny hole, or the O-rings have failed, check the jubilee clips also.

After a trip north to pay our respects to Debz I decided to look at why the car was using more fuel than it usually does and a complete lack of power.
So this morning I unplugged the maf then took the car out for a quick drive,
quick was the only way to describe it to its previously lethargic state.

A new genuine bosch maf now ordered from another members recommendations for the princely sum of £106, a job no doubt for next weekend if it arrives in time.

I hope you don't mind me joining this thread.--( off topic. ) My wife had a hip repair in October. Lots of complications and Pain since.--If your friends wife finds the reason is it possible to tell me what it is ??

My wife can hardly move and is now bedridden most of the time.

Thanks in advance .

I'd also check the intercooler O rings while your hands are dirty - a common complaint, and resolved at a very reasonable price: https://www.dmgrs.co.uk/products/rov...er-o-rings-kit

Not a bad job to fit either.
