Default guitarists

I've noticed there's a few axemen out there.
What have you got and what do you play?
What's your dream machine and what was your first?

I've finally recently got my dream guitar, a Gretch Silver Falcon with TJones PUs. Being a lefty it's real serendipity as to what you get and when this one turned up on ebay at a very sensible price, well the plastic and the missus just had to be squeezed..

I write my own songs, mostly rock 'n roll but I've got a nice line in ye olde hippy stuff too.

My first guitar was a Boosey and Hawkes f-hole, a right-hander strung upside down.

I play mostly 3 chord stuff. They say Chuck Berry knew 5 chords, but he was always a bit of a show-off

Can I join the group? My Epiphone EB3 bass in gloss black is in regular use (E.g., I'm jamming tomorrow with three other old rockers....), my unbranded de-fretted bass less so.

First guitar? First one I bought new was (is, as I still have it) a jumbo bodied Hawk 12 string, bought in 1968 for £40 with 21st birthday money. Unfortunately due to the onset of arthritis in my left hand, it's not played anymore, hence the switch to bass.

Gretch Silver Falcon I didn't take up guitar until I was 50 years old Because of chronic back problems I had to find a hobby other than repairing cars on cold concrete floors.
I just couldn't physically do the maintenance on them anymore

I sold my classic cars off & bought some guitars, nothing expensive but good run of the mill stuff.

I've still got my first guitar, a 1996 epiphone Les paul. It was showing it's age, rutted frets and the electrics were failing so I went to town on it and had new SS frets installed a pair of Dimarzzio pick ups & I put in a vintage loom & new pots, switch gear. I couldn't sell it as it had great memories.

I have a bunch of other guitars Squiers, Sheraton, Harley Benton guitars Basses, a electric 12 String & a Mandolin. .........they keep me off the streets

I'm still a beginner, I have a left handed cheapie acoustic and have just about mastered a few open chords I love the Gretsch mentioned by the op and also a Les paul.
