Cracking engine the 1.8T. It's just right for the 75 I feel and handles well too.

Mine runs like a dream, and takes off like a scalded cat if you floor the accelerator.

I may be biased but the 1.8T has been a delight to drive for the last 3 and half years.
The V6 behaves like a different car but has its good points especially the power and delivery of it along with a great sound. No plans to change either of them and shortly the 1.8T will have new rear suspension arms and compete Dinitrol underneath to preserve it. Long may it last.

Have to agree out of my three variants, the 1.8 T is just so nice to drive, (That's when mine is running correctly, but this is not a fault of the engine it is the fact that my car is a total hybrid of variants that should and indeed did not exist in 1999..... and my knowledge of diagnostics is minimal but once told what the problem is, i can fix it.... contrary to some beliefs)
The Diesel is a great drive, especially when taken up to 160, the V6 is great sounding and so comfortable, but the 1.8 T is so responsive, quiet and smooth, handling is great and the most economical of the three

However, I won't be held responsible for a friend who's following in my footsteps and scrapping a turbo tourer for the same conversion. My monogram needed a sill and his 25 engine is poorly so it's saving two...
