Default clutching at straws (sorry!)

hi my clutch needs looking at as the pedal sometimes sticks down and I can't get into gear unless I toe it upwards.
I've been advised by a 75 owner that the master will probably go at some point (even tho it was replaced by its previous owner last year) so I'd rather get it fixed now before I'm stuck miles from home!
So the question is does anyone know of a good garage that can sort this for me. (my usual and very trustworthy guy is short staffed at the mo and I'll be at the back of a very long queue of cars waiting repair!!).
I'm in the Manchester area.
any help will be much appreciated cheers folks.

Most folks around here agree, only one choice and that's our expert Andy, will travel and regularly does so, at it appears less cost overall than local garages.

Default Interesting clutch problem.....

Back in November 2014 my clutch pedal stuck down and left me stranded and unable to move so I had my car recovered to my local garage who have done a lot of work on various cars in my family.
Anyway, they diagnosed a failed slave cylinder which had dumped its fluid all over the clutch plate, bell housing and flywheel and contaminated the lot. So, £700+ later for a new clutch, slave cylinder etc etc the car was fine.
A couple of months later exactly the same thing happened, the pedal stuck down and I was stranded, only this time, and I have no idea why, I lifted the pedal with my foot and it's been fine ever since...and i'd never heard of the sticking down clutch pedal phenomenon until reading it here just now.

Now, I would like to think that my local garage is 100% trustworthy but...

No, surely not!

I had my clutch fitted when I bought my ZT, as It was a non-runner. 2 weeks later the clutch stuck down, made me panic, but I lifted It with my foot and all was well again... this has happened a handful of times, I Ignore It, 15,000 miles on the car Is still going strong...... never found a leak etc etc........
here's hoping!!!

I have found that is sometimes caused by the rubber inside the screw on top of the master cylinder....Take the top off & have a look at the rubber...Should stand up like a finger & should hve no breaks in it if it has replace it
