Default Tesla Drivers locked out of their cars

The joys of depending on a digital App - Tesla's App crashed and as a consequence they could not start their cars - give me a good old key anyday

It's no different to being out in the car and losing the key or an electroinc key failing.

People often drop their phones and break them which makes them non-functional. It's a risk.

Whenever I go away a distance of over a 100 miles, I always have a spare key in the rucksack or wife in her handbag in case the primary key fails or is lost.

If the app was the only way of getting into a Tesla, it would be news. As it is, it's not.

I can remember the days when you could leave your car unlocked, with the keys in the ignition and it would still be there in the morning. We did find a drunk, asleep in the back on one occasion though, which prompted us to re-think our vehicle security!

They need to carry the secondary method to access the car which is like us carrying a spare set of keys. I think the have a "credit card" as the secondary method. Fits into a wallet but I dont always have my wallet with me.

Besides that App Tesla gives you multiple ways of accessing the car via Key card, Fob & bluetooth key via your mobile phone, All that they couldn't access were some of the bells &, whistles on the main screen.

My sister in law has a Tesla. The software is pretty amazing. Build quality is not what you'd expect for the price but overall if I could afford one I'd have one
