Well that's more like it.
Cracking 4th place for Ryan in race one today here at Thruxton.
Hoping for more of the same tomorrow.
For those if you who have followed motorcycle racing for a few years I've spent a very pleasant day watching the racing in the company of Alan Carter ex 250 grand prix winner who now spends his weekends mentoring up and coming young riders including Ryan
Cheers

4th in race one and three. Felt for him when he dropped it in the last lap of race two.

Thanks Steve
Yes some good results in some very strange weather conditions ( I got sunburnt and almost drowned..lol) The team has put in some long hours since Brands to try to get on top of the handling issues with the bike and it certainly was showing a marked improvement at Thruxton to quote Ryan "It's better but there lot's more to come". As you said a good qualifying saw him 3rd quickest and followed by 4th place in race 1. Race two and a solid 2nd place was lost after being given a long lap penalty which dropped him back into the following pack and he just tried a little to hard in the complex on the last lap but apart from being winded he was OK. Race 4 was another solid 4th in difficult conditions but overall the team came away well pleased with their 26 point weekend. Ryan now sit's 11th in the championship but a few more good results could see him into the top 8 shootout for the championship.
It's worth remembering that after many years in MotoX Ryan had his first race on tarmac less than 6 years ago so some great steps have been made from that first homebuilt Honda 500 to winning the Stock 600 championship in 2018 and now on a superbike mixing it with the best, and still young at 22.
No stopping "The O show" on that Yamaha this year though

Cadwell Park see's the arrival of the British Superbike Championship this weekend and Ryan got everyone's attention in free practice 2 today by setting a time of 1.25.816.
This is the fastest lap ever on two wheels around Cadwell Park

Fingers crossed mate.. Looking forward to Snetterton in a couple of weeks as I said I've got your tickets and I'll give you a call when we get to Norfolk to arrange things.

A rather large crash and some superhuman efforts.
After a great Fridays practice things turned upside down in Saturdays qualifying
when only on his second flying lap Ryan ran just a tiny bit wide going into Chris's curve and ran onto the wet grass, now we all know that slicks and wet grass don't make for a great combination, and the bike decided to exit left!!
Being a sensible lad Ryan decided that now would be a good time to part company with the bike before it got to the barriers and promptly stepped off at around 100 mph Ryan escaped serious injury but was fairly battered and bruised.. the bike on the other hand was destroyed as it went end over end into the barrier.. Race 1 was just two hours away but even with only one lap done Ryan was 8th on the grid but as said the bike was in a sorry state.
Then the work began.. Take 6 top bike mechanics and a broken bike and magic happens, 1 hour 45 mins later Ryan and bike are race ready Ryan being heavily strapped up and the bike has been completely rebuilt with only the engine being salvaged from the wreckage.
Taking the sensible (painful) approach both rider and machine finished in a very creditable 8th place with a lap time that puts them 7th on the grid for todays first race.
You can catch the race live on eurosport .
Cheers

Three top 10 finishes over the 2 days was an amazing result for Ryan who had to be almost lifted on and off the bike after Saturdays crash..
Home round at Snetterton next in 2 weeks time..
