Nice to see another one saved, it will only go up in value especially with the TLC it deserves and always nice to have a rarity. Congratulations on the purchase. It might be worth me getting up to Corbridge to see it once you have done it but will only just have welcomed a little one in to the world if he comes on his due date. Once again congrats and well done on the saving of a little gem.

Put simply, apart from the welding, it needs a b****y good clean, inside and out. Its previous owners are an elderly couple, the guy is disabled and would have difficulty getting in and out of the car, let alone cleaning it. I hope to have it restored to its former glory, including having the welding and any other MOT work done, and new certificate issued, by mid August. Yes, I am sure a bit of much deserved TLC will increase its value. Hope to see you at Corbridge. Or 29th August at Ripon, that's much nearer you. Saved.
Picked her up from Darlington this afternoon after completing the necessary tax and registration formalities. First stop was Morrisons for fuel, then back on the M1.
She drove like a dream, temp gauge settled at the nine o'clock mark, no warning lights or any other little horrors. The headlining, which I overlooked checking yesterday, is fine, and the seats are somewhat better than from my first impression. Only the drivers is a bit grubby and hopefully some specialist leather cleaner will do the job. Cleaning the interior was hardly the previous owners priority as the drivers door bin included a tax disc with an expiry date of 31 08 2012! The radio needs a code, hopefully that will be with the manual and service history documents when I will be getting soon. The NSF wing has seen better days and I hope to source a same colour one in due course. The passenger side door mirror, a chrome one, is beyond redemption. . Does the back seat fold down? Can't find the release latches that my Club SE has. Last edited by Annfield-East; 15th June 2021 at 17:02.. Reason: Additional paragraphs. |

Nice one, well done on the hard work up to now. Feel under the rear seat cushion between the base and the back, just above the wheel arch. There may be a ribbon which you pull to release the backrest, one either side. Failing that, some cars didn't have folding seats
Use the OBD for temperature, much more reliable than the gauge, |

The seat back seems like it is firmly fixed. No play at all. Can anyone say what the substantial boot width fitting at the top of the attached picture is please? My Club doesn't have one. |
