Took my 75 for a MOT, sadly it failed requires two front tyres. To be fair they were getting low but not down to the tread bar, I think it was more the fact some cracks were appearing in the tread grooves. No complaints from me though, that's just a motoring cost, there were no other issues.
Two new tyres being fitted tomorrow. |

I bought some Y spokes from Chuckles. I've finally finished cleaning them and went out to put them on today.
Discovered Kim's front offside spring has bust A couple of years ago I got a pair of struts and springs off Lordy, so I've been upstairs to check on them. I just have to remove one from a broken hub and I'll be able to swap them over as a teporary measure just to get her through the MOT in June. Never done dampers and springs before. Looking forward to it

I lowered the drivers window earlier today, it was followed by a bang and something dropping into the bottom of the door, I pressed the switch not really knowing what was going to happen and luckily it went all the way up.
Rummaging through a box of spares I found a replacement mech, phew. The cable had snapped on the mech, something I havent come across before, swapped it all over and greased the wires and runners and all is well again. |

Fitted a remote USB socket for the head unit and gave the offside sill a bit of a clean up of surface rust and resprayed. Was a little concerned about the sill but it's still solid after the last repair but not a good coat of paint by the looks of things so problem now solved

Today I thought I'd give the Connie a clean after doing her headlamps last week I think she deserved a bath. Glancing around the car I noticed the n/s/r wheel was black with brake dust whilst the others were a lot cleaner. Suspecting a seized calliper I jacked up the wheel and span it but it turned freely ? Off with the wheel and the pads had about 1mm of material on them ( I checked the other side and they were about 1/2 worn ! ) so in order to remove the piston I tried to crack off the bleed nipple carefully but it just sheered off after soaking it and working it back and forth .
I partially pumped out the piston and lifted the dust cover and managed to clean some rust on the surface with wet and dry soaked in brake fluid before coating in red rubber grease and levering the piston back in . It was tight at first then easily retracted so I replaced the pads on both sides after cleaning the slides and coating them with the correct brake grease. A road test after washing the car and both rear wheels stay cool so I'll have to keep an eye on it and may need to sort out another calliper as the wife is going to use the car to travel to her new job up and down the A19 as I daren't let her use the tourer as it's manual and she's a serial clutch killer !! |

Meet
I have heard, from a very reliable source, that there is a meeting planned for 3 July in East Kirby. I was wondering if I might be invited please. M.

Has the top arm in the first picture had a plate welded on as a repair?
