Alpine double din.
I fitted this today, double din screen but a single din chassis.
And what a fantastic bit of kit it is, the touch screen is sensitive to touch so no prodding at it, it’s very fast and does several tasks in its stride. It has built in satnav as well. It came with a microphone so I paired the phone to it and made a call, it’s that clear it’s hard to imagine the person on the other end is not beside you. It has voice control on it but as yet I haven’t tried it. Next on the shopping list for it will be front and rear camera’s and a cd/ DVD player. First impressions of it is the quality, it oozes it, not only in its build but the performance of it. Price, don’t ask, I did get an absolute bargain tho. |

Very nice, what model is it? My Chinese unit is past its best so I am looking at other options.
I have seen new Chinese units on Ali express for not much more than £100 but I would prefer to fit and forget rather than worrying if it will work again. |

Alpine double din.
Its a INE W720d,expensive but, I did get a bargain.
I really had had enough of that thing in my car, I was considering of going down the route of fitting a highline but with the later monitor and bm54, but with what I could have paid for working units compared to an all singing unit then there is no comparison, unless you want something that looks factory fit. I'm extremely happy with this unit, and, sorry for sounding like a parrot, the quality of it, even down to the sticky pads, is something you wont get from a cheap box of frogs. There isn't a kit available, I used 2 of those meccano type metal pieces from Halfords, cut and bent to shape, it works but its a bit primitive.
It's attached to the fascia plate but that plate isn't pleasing to my eye. I have a genuine kit which I bought for an e46, which needs some very slight adaptation to fit, it also makes the unit very secure in the car, once I've fitted it and as long as it looks the part I'm going to ask the manufacturer if they will make a kit for our cars with the mods. |

the surrounds are for sale on ebay to fit mg rover 75. not expensive either. the double din size is standard i believe on the screens for the kenwoods and alpine and pioneers. just had to fettle a little to get the mounting top screws to fit but pretty straightforward. if you need the oak surrounds then they are all available cut to exact size on here by our man who does the trims (simon) if you buy the surround on ebay. also the rear of my kenwood just sits nicely on the rear shelf of the rover underneath the din unit.
