Good morning (well, it was morning when i started to type this!) all
We've had some weird weather since yesterday afternoon. At teatime, it was freezing, with a good coating of frozen slush. Later in the evening, the temperature rose and it started to rain. Early morning today - light sleet again - but now we've got really heavy sleet, with more wet snow in it than there is rain.
It's a thoroughly miserable day - the idea of hibernation becomes more attractive by the minute.

Well, at high noon precisely the snow finally fizzled out. By the look of the rainfall radar that's the lot, about 20cm in total, for now.

But enough to last the Southern softies a lifetime, as well as triggering panic buying and the declaration of a state of emergency.

They cause problems nationally, but only came to prominence following the introduction of disc braked rolling stock.

And, please, don't anyone dare mention the wrong type of snow!

Looks like you sent it South to me - we've just had nigh on 2 hours of very heavy snow and sleet. It's really sloppy, but the roads are well white over - with a forecast of -3° tonight !!

Depends on your distance from the coast and height above seal level. Here its 15 miles inland and 807 feet ASL; 2000 if you ask trikey.

Snowing here again.

We are in the dark ages here, so I have just had to lightly tap off the snow that's accumulated on the cable from the telegraph pole to the property. If that lot froze tonight the weight could easily bring the cable down.

Cool

The sun came out and it has been a glorious warm day today. Just starting to cloud over a bit. But the outside temperature reached 13.5 degrees at mid day.

Went to the Post Office this morning to send some calendars off, never bothered to wear a coat as it was quite warm.

Last of my chicken casserole for my dinner this evening.
