It seems clear that the T-Charge checker is issuing random pass/fail answers. My 2004 1.8T passes according to that (or it did yesterday anyway). I suppose it's one way to reduce the number of cars actually going into the city. How is it policed?

Stuffed either way as a travel card (Thameslink and Tube) costs up to £28 a day depending on time and I think technically the train commute from St Albans to St Pancras is the most expensive per mile in the UK.

Makes no sense at all.. I never go into the centre of London, anyway. Might become a problem if they include Bristol as they keep threatening to, though.

I certainly wouldn't trust that site it seems to be giving very random results
Maybe it's a ploy to bring in a lot of cash Russ

T charge elegibility
The T charge blurb refers to cars registered before 2006. However my diesel tourer was bought new and registered in March 2006 and has an 06 plate. But according to the official web site a charge is payable on this car.
I wouldn't drive in London and I don't object to the proposal but it is interesting. And such charging will spread. By the way, how do I obtain build date information on my car? With kind regards John Billard |

I wonder is it a big con so they can figure out what people are checking lots off so they can start adding charges.
Mark my words, won't be a Mg rover that will be free by Xmas.
