Well, it's in at least.
Fitted and working, could really do with some walnut though Has anyone done this? The item number from Simon (of Bulgaria's) list would be very much appreciated.

Heddy your fit looks good, did you have trouble with the depth issues, did you shave some material off the bulkhead. I agree a bit of walnut would finish it off nicely.
Mine is on the way so have not tackled the install yet, would be grateful for any tips Blackrose |

It's what you might term as 'snug'. I haven't altered the size of the opening at all. I removed the control box for swc's which was bolted onto the back of the bulkhead. I also pushed a loom to the one side and then basically hit it hard with a soft hammer! Seriously, it is tight, and I pushed it in with my thumbs on the fixing lugs of the fascia so as not to break them off (top of unit first). The sandstone coloured plastic around the fixing holes hamper the progress of the lugs. A final push on individual corners saw it go flush.

Hi Heddy
Presumably, you fitted the unit from the back of the facia? Thanks Ian D

Superb fit Heddy, well done. Did you buy the Rover fascia and shave around the opening?
I've made a third attempt to fit mine to make sure the unit is supported at the rear, it seems the rear 20 pin loom plug is taking the support resting on the rear ridge section behind the dash. I fitted two angle support brackets to take the weight at the rear, otherwise the unit is just hanging/resting on the loom plug. Here are some pics. SWC wiring... Hourly Super Sale!!! The RunGrace unit will be on SALE for £9.83 at 10:00pm tonight (only 20 available). Last edited by Dallas; 19th November 2016 at 21:16.. |
