Default Petrol - In tank fuel pump

Yella Fella wont start. Turning over, but not firing. (1.8 Turbo, 64K miles).

I suspect its the pump as its the same symptoms as my tourer a few months back and that needed a new pump to sort the problem.

DGRMS don't seem to sell the pumps for petrol cars. Anyone know where I can source a new pump?

Best way to check if its fuel is disconnect the fuel line going to the rail and see if you get fuel upon ignition prime.

I know this is easy to do on a KV6 as the rail is under the cover, not sure on the 1.8 so maybe bad advice.
But its the best way to check if your getting fuel, unless you cant hear the pump prime when you turn the ignition on the its more than likely pump.

The car is at home (im at work). The wife says she can hear the pump priming and the "nearly" starting.

if its struggling to start then it could be the fuel filter seperation as described, worth while doing that and replacing the filter (seems how your removing the pump anyway)
If this doesnt cure it then look at ignition are you getting good spark etc.

Almost starting sounds more like not enough fuel, will the car start if you gently apply some throttle?

Fit the clip any way,it is a quick job to do at home. Not something you want to do while suited and booted!
