I find it rather sad that people have nothing better to do with there lives than make comments that have obviously upset you. Before I joined this wonderful club we were members of the Goldwing club where the majority of the bikes/trikes were highly customised and yes, you would look at some of them and think they looked hideous because of the excessive amount of lights ( one friend had 180 lights on his bike ) accessories that they had added, the important thing was that they liked how there machine looked and at the end of the day that is all that matters.
Also, some of the members were simply jealous because if they could afford it they would do exactly the same to there bike.
My advice to you is to ignore such people, although I don't know you it is very obvious that you have some good friends in the club and friends who like the look of your car so why worry about a small minority of irrelevant people?

At my time of life I really don't need this sort of controversy so I have decided not to attend any more club meets. Which is a shame, because I was going to put my name down for the Yorkshire meet this weekend were I was going to give away a mk1 meshed grille complete with a Viking badge. Never mind, I'll keep it as a spare in case the one on my car ever gets damaged.

If you see this Mark2000cc, will you please remove my name from the Sherwood Forest meet in September.

Chad.
I understand the op and his decision not to attend meets. I don't attend any now for a similar reason. I've never got why fellow members stick the boot in to another member.

Sorry, couldn't resist.
You are almost right with your guess.

It is the one and only car produced in Rover's experimental Biomorphic Saturn Pink but because when the Sun shines the paint takes on the appearance of Green, they decided not to add the paint to their range.

Incidentally, even at night the Biomorphic effect doesn't work, unless you are under Amber sodium street lights, then it looks Gold and Green, except for when I drive through Golders Green, the only time it looks pink.

(For our politically correct members, the last part is a joke, just as is the post I'm responding to).

For the record, I don't give a Flying you know what for what others think of my car, I love it and won't let anyone put me off attending meets.

I hope the OP gets the message, attend all the meets you can, especially Sherwood, I'll be there so park next to me and listen to the criticism of my car, I need moral support.

Another thought, if you went to a meeting and there were 100 Rover 75s there and they were all the same colour with exactly the same specification would there be any point in taking an interest in anybody else's car? no, because individuality would have gone out of the window.

[QUOTE=Neil1;1951226]That's a shame!

I wouldn't let what other people think of DRL's fitted to put me off, it's your car at the end of the day.

I've been looking at the ones from Osram which are fog and DRL's incorporated because my car doesn't have any fog lights fitted.

I like the look of those Osram fog / DRLs but at £349???

What brand of aftermarket DRLs are people fitting? Some of the obviously cheap makes do look dim / fall off / stop working and generally look **** IMHO however the better quality ones are definitely a decent bit of kit.

Offering services to help members get what they may want. Isn't that why I pay my 240.00 a year ?

I replaced my fogs with Ring DRL's long ago, quality product and no issues.... In my opinion they look very tidy, and as it's my car, it's my opinion that counts :-)
