Hi Simon yes thanks mate it is a 2 speed fan without a resistor, is it best to just to swap a two with a two or is it best to get a one with a resistor, my son is quite good with the mechanics so he will help, how difficult is it to replace with the fan with a resistor? and of course get a gold up grade.

It's best to talk to Arctic about a 2 speed system with a gold resistor. That is the most reliable option.

If your son is a competent DIY mechanic then he will be able to do it (he'll need some Torx bits).
