At one time it was rumoured that checking Brake Fluid for water was going to be part of MOT.

Time for a 'Tuning' subforum to keep all the topics in one area that you can choose to read or not?

I can't say anything really because I've been there, got the T shirt but can't be bothered any more. I'd prefer not to read the threads (or know I'm about to read one) - I tend to get annoyed with them because people either don't tend to listen or attack you for just being negative if you're not 100% behind an idea or point out any potential problems - I know I usually didn't listen and have been known to be a little 'confrontational' in my time as well

Maybe a sub-forum for 'Tuning and other modifications' is a good idea.
It would keep all the information in one place.

However is still doesn't address the issue of people not listening, or attacking or being negative.................

It's just concentrated in a single sub forum.

I absolutely agree with the last couple of posts...
advising folks that a little money should be spent on safety before spending on speed seems to be met with "well who asked you" more times than not...

I have seen too many local lads dead in the paper by wrapping hyped up cars round trees not to say something now..

OK, well there's me thinking to myself, what's Rich on about with the vroom tish brigade, I didn't think the 75 / ZT was an attractive car to the boy racer brigade... then I saw Sir Rustalots post showing a 23 yr old crashing a ZT with wife & kid in car during a police chase.... thought provoking indeed!
I guess that the cars are now so cheap they are falling into the hands of less responsible folks who do fit the type indicated by Rich in this post :-(

Yeah, but you'd have to go looking for trouble rather than opening an ambiguously titled thread and spitting your werthers original sucky sweet out in disgust

Not really, you only have to make a suggestion that safety needs considering, and like Klarzy says above, you usually get a negative response.

So what is the first thing you need to do to your car to make your car faster?

Bigger brakes.

On a more serious note, not once have I seen someone say they want a faster car, so where should they get better brakes or suspension from.

I think the lack of interest in safety critical items is what upsets people amd makes them say "buy a better car" whenever tuning is mentioned.
If you're talking about the 75 setup then yes maybe you have a point however the ZT's especially the 190 / 260 already have a more then adequate setup. In three years I've never once experienced brake fade on the ZT and although I haven't track'd it yet I'd sure that on a circuit it would be the same story.
Our ZS and TF round Snetterton, both with their big brakes were faultless even after lap after lap of braking from well over 120mph!

There is a great deal of dry humour in my posts. I suspect you have realised that
