Default Inspection

Isn't the inspection the countdown for the more detailed service, two types of service are oil service and Inspection.

Well that is what I have been led to believe.

Yes, the inspection is much more thorough. Someone posted a copy of the service schedule, hereabouts.

As my car is almost constantly being inspected and I am very familiar with the condition of everything, I just do the annual oil service and clear all of the countdown's at the same time. They are useful reminders, when you take your car into a garage for its servicing.

Fix a poor handbrake; DIY ABS diagnostic unit; Loan of the spanner needed to change the CDT belts; free OBD diagnostics +MAF; Correct Bosch MAF cheap; DVB-T install in an ex-hi-line system; DD install with a HK amp; FBH servicing.

I've taken a vow of poverty. To annoy me, send money.

The thing is, very few service centres will do the Oil Service and Inspection jobs as set down on the old MGR schedules. They do their 'standard' service (whatever that means), plus whatever else you ask them to do. A few may still follow the MGR service manual, but not many. For all but the most dedicated owner, the service screen reset is a meaningless ritual, more especially for those doing less than 15K miles annually and using the local service station.

But wait till your next reset. That's when the clues are needed!

press them before ignition goes on?
No chance of wiping vehicle mileage otherwise all 75's would read 000000. Mileage is stored in a number of locations and is constantly crossed referenced, change one of the components without coding them to the car and it shows up in the speedo (IPK) unit.

You are quite correct TC. My car will never do 15k in a year and will not go a year without seeing some spanners.
But, I can't be doing with seeing minus numbers!

So I use the OBD to fix the IPK and my OCD.
