Default Half-witted Postman!

If anybody here is a Postman I apologise, I'm not tarring you all with the same brush but ours doesn't seem to be the sharpest knife in the drawer. I was waiting for a guitar part from a dealer in the US, arrived home Saturday to find the "Something for you" card behind the door. Looked at it, my address but a name I've never heard of, no clues other than it was marked as too big for the letterbox.

I went along to the local sorting office earlier, handed the card over. As soon as I saw the label on the envelope I knew it was the guitar part. Where had the unknown name come from? Our Postie had managed to combine the sender's details with mine, writing the name of the shipping clerk at the dealer in the US and my address on the card

Cool

I was with the Royal Mail for over 20 years, note "with" not worked. And it works both ways. If you could have seen some of the addresses that the public put on their mail was unbelievable.
Address
To the lady with the black cat,
Next to the shop that sells dresses,
In the high road.
London.

It got delivered, eventually.

I had a bad run with the post office, but it seems to have cleared. I think it was just a lazy/rouge posty that couldn't be bothered or pocketed post.

There days the issues are with Yodel. They are terrible, and our guy is a liar. I cant use ECP any more because of them, i have to use the branch, which isnt muich better, the guys are lazy and surly.

A mate at work has posties that don't even bother trying to deliver anything bigger than a standard evelope. He's had the "you weren't in" notes in the letterbox when he was in. He caught the postman doing it once and asked for the parcel, the guy had to admit he didn't have it.

Got home this afternoon after being out for a few hours to find a card on the mat.`A parcel needs signing for, please collect from the sorting office'
An hour later the postman dropped it in on his way back to the yard.
Great service.

Agree, great service . . . . don't get that here. You get one chance and that's it. Oh, I've had the card through the door routine when I've been in as well.
