My observations...
1. Bonnet up - some light grinding noise from engine occasionally? Could just be me over cautious! 2. Fan kicks in frequently and on immediate start up 3. Smelly stinky air con on warm setting (will take to garage to decontaminate) - air con not cold enough for me 4. Lose passenger door trim by lock knob But Malcolm gave it a good whack - fixed! Lol 5. Driver window rattle (lose) 6. 160miles mostly motorway and nearly 1/2 tank 7. Very slow hesitant before powers comes on for auto kick down 8. Slow delivery of power 9. Low whining /running noise heard in cabin (v6?) 10. Strong smell of fuel on start up outside (car has no cat)? 11. Driver inside door handle lose - looks like its be removed a few times due to the chippings around the edges 12. Car veers to the left as u brake (steering wheel turns left) 13. Squeaking brakes 14. Rear spoiler seals (gaskets) looks brittle - might replace 15. Steering wheel vibrates from 70mph Just my observation May not be fair at all to a 12 year old car. Compared it to my 1994 VR6 Corrado 190bhp (manual) sold last night! And my 2010 Skoda Superb DSG (auto) 170bhp diesel sold last year... Last edited by Wayne2015; 12th July 2015 at 08:25.. |

'She' does look a lovely car from your pics and, like you said, she's 12 years old so there'll always be some niggles.
For me, fixing the niggles on these wonderful cars is what makes owning the car more of a hobby rather than it being just an A-B machine. After time you'll begin to 'know' your car and its character. I've had our ZTT for over 3 years now and it had quite a few issues when we bought it, just about getting it how I want it now and the more I sort it, the more I love it

My only problem is I not adept in DIY and with no drive / garage - will struggle with space to tinker too But I will do my best and as long as it does not immobilises the car, I will give everything a go |

Not having at least a driveway is a bit of a problem I guess but, there's still loads you can do on the roadside. If you weren't 3 or 4 hours away, I'd offer you the use of mine. We do it all the time in the Mini clubs and it works quite well if local. Maybe somebody local to you could offer the same, if they do, always take a packet of biscuits with you
