If the 135's quick i wonder what the 160vvc is like

My girlfriends really got her heart set on one but seems like insurance is being a big problem.

Is the 115 a possibility? 1.6 etc might make it quite a bit cheaper.

The 160 VVC is a great engine, but you do have to use the rev's for the extra power. It's 0-60 in 6.9 secs, so they do go pretty well!

Hint: Don't test drive a good 160. You won't be willing to compromise with a 135, or 115, afterwards.

Saying that, when my 160 was having work done I had a loan car 115. Still great fun, pokey enough etc. Still get the back end out if you want!

Could opt for a 115 if it's nippy enough. although we haven't found a 115 we like yet. 135 seems to be the most common available.

Haha don't worry I'll keep away from the 160's for now otherwise I'll end up wanting one

Put your Dad on as another driver. My Daughter runs a Q5 and it brought her premium down quite a lot.
Also, have a read on moneysavingexpert.com for the best way to go about it.

in normal driving mode there is nothing to tell between the 3 engines, yeah you may need to use the gears a bit more in the 115 than the 160 but thats it

you could always get the 115 remapped which helps quite a bit ive been told

get the 160 remapped, air intake sorted and a decent exhaust and its a bit of a beast (6.1 on the torque app 0-60 timer)

also watch out if you look at an early 135 TF as some of them fall into the high road tax class

Her Dad's added as a named driver on the quotes we've been getting. City Insurance quoted £7k! what a joke for limited 2k miles. Could buy 4-5 decent TF's for that money.

Peter Best don't insure anyone below 25, so that cancels them out. Adrian Flux are meant to call back as they think they can get their £900 quote down lower. the £900 is with me included as a named driver as well, so might try a quote without me on it.

Other than that I think it leaves Lancaster Insurance and A Plan to get a quote from.

Doesn't look too promising unfortunately

I wouldn't mind a mid sport quad exhaust system on the 135 TF we're looking at, seen and heard some SS systems on a TF and they sound fantastic I think just to be safe I'd rather my partner have the 135 than the 160vvc, heard the back end can step out quite often on a vvc

I did notice the road tax on the TF we're looking at is £225, seems pretty high to me. Is that the higher tax class?
