Confirm Swiftcover discount, got it on mine, and the funny thing is they don't ask if it works or if it's on as far as I can see

Only thing missing on the dash cam is the night vision. But no big deal at £40. The more expensive brands are really packed with features. See how this goes for a few months and see if it is worth while to upgrade. Test it during winter driving.

A sign outside the Lidl store in Arbroath this morning says the dash cams will be in stock from Thursday next.

Been using it since Monday and it works just fine. Picture quality is decent but needs set to full exposure as the default setting was too dark.

On a full battery it will run for maybe 2 hours. Long driving, just plug it in which is probably the most annoying aspect of these cameras. Having a wire dangling down. But hey.

The transfer rates from camera to desktop are very very slow. Not my systems that are slow. Main workstation is hexcore and my main system for work. I assume it is USB 2.0 but is far slower than my other cameras that are also full HD and use 2.0. So software must be bottle necking it.
Not looked at the source code yet but plan to do that later.

Overall, worth £40 and works as expected.

Hexcore, source code, what on earth are you talking about? Please assume we know nothing about this things and explain in plain language so we mortals can make some kind of informed appraisal on the gadget.

Sorry. Just mean that it is rather slow on transferring from the camera to computer.

I picked up one of these dash cams today and it looks pretty good. Nice to see something that is European for a change. It's made by Targa in Germany. I bought a Targa external hard drive in Lidl around ten years ago and it's still going strong, so hopefully the camera will be as robust.

All these dash cams are slow to download to computer if you connect with the camera's USB lead. It's much quicker if your PC has a card reader slot, or you connect with a simple external card reader.

It will be interesting to see how it compares to my old dash cam.
