Default CD stuck in NEW BMW E46 media head unit

Hope this is right section for this query.
recently fitted new BMW E46 media unit which are being sold through this site .
One of the support programmes in the E46 unit is OBD(On board diagnostics) which requires a Bluetooth dongle and has a small disc to insert for codes and instructions.
The dongle paired instantly, but disc went in but did not register as a disc?
By that I mean drive stated "NO DISC"
On attempting to Eject nothing happened, is there any way I can retrieve disc (which is of no importance0 and get CD/DVD drive back in use?
Why weather the storm when you can learn to dance in the rain.
