Default Advice needed please about replacing Harmony head unit with Symphony

Hi All,

I would really welcome your advice!

After owning Zircon for 3 years, I thought I would treat it/me to an upgrade from the Harmony head unit to the Symphony - wowed by the possibility of better sound quality (I already have the Alpine CD changer) - and get it fitted at the next service. I have read a bit more now and find that the radio reception may actually be inferior because the cars with the Harmony do not have a 'diversity receiver' in the C pillar as standard.

And then there's the possibility of obtaining an SLE unit too ... all so complicated!!

Can any of you guys advise please? I am getting what looks to be a lovely condition Symphony unit via ebay - but I am worried it all may be a bit of a waste of time!

Thanks so much,

Nicholas/Zircon

I straight swopped my Harmony HU for the Symphony HU and have not experienced any problem with inferior radio reception.

Symphony was plug and play for me when I changed from the Harmony.

Hi All,

Many thanks ... that's what I was hoping to hear!

Now, fingers crossed that the ebay purchase is as good as it promises to be!

All the best,

Nicholas/Zircon

PS I have also been reading about the SLE (loudness enabler) sold from Germany and might think of that too in the future ... but one step at a time (after all it's taken me three years to decide to step up from the Harmony ... so I am not exactly rushing things).
