Took her for her MOT, which she passed.
Plenty more stuff to do, but it's good to have her back on the road for the first time since 2013. |

Refurbished my replacement projector headlights. A time consuming job but satisfying, especially when you end up with some shiny clear headlights. Well pleased!

I bought a Autoglym Headlight Restoration Kit, but I used a toothbrush and some Solvol Autosol to start with, and then used the finishing balm out of the kit to finish them off. They came out very good I thought.

Just over 600 miles travelling to do a job in London, and one in Leicester on the way home.
I brimmed it before heading off, I might fill it again today to see what sort of consumption it returned.........it's currently on just under 1/4 tank with an estimated range of 140 miles until empty. Brian Last edited by marinabrian; 20th May 2020 at 06:49.. Reason: Spelling |

Steadily working through cleaning up the intake stuff. This is what I first saw when the bumper came off.
That crud went all the way through. Ended up soaking the lot for an hour to loosen it off, then a very gentle nylon detailing brush to encourage it to fall away of it's own accord. As for the hoses, dear me.... After dismantling and a LOT of cleaning later had it looking better. The broken plastic oil cooler rail bracket has been welded back together, and found a few nuts and bolts that have escaped over time so they've gone back on the car. The various undertray bits have been repaired (I'm getting pretty handy with a soldering iron at this plastic welding lark) and the clips & fixings cleaned up. The bonnet locks now work, although the n/s could maybe spring back on release a bit better so that's coming off for another look. PCV filter next, which gives me a chance to look at the breathing from that end of the engine and clean it all down if need be. Then I might get round to actually doing the oil change. |
