Default Ambient Temperature Sensor

My Temp sensor was reporting -30 degrees although it would start ticking up a degree at a time as I drove along, never getting to the right temp and returning to -30 when I switched the ignition off. Computer reset did nothing.

So I replaced my sensor with a new one from DMGRS, but still get -30 degrees, with no changes. I have run program 21 to reset the computer but again, without any improvement.

I am sure it is properly connected behind the bumper (its hard not to connect it properly). It took me ages to get the bumper back on, I really don't want to take it off again if I can avoid it.

There doesn't appear to be a fuse for it.

Does anyone have any ideas about what I might check next?

Thanks in advance.

Have a look at the wiring loom, you may have a break somewhere.

Possibly corroded pins in the electrical connector.

Turned out to be the pins on the main bumper multi-connector. Cleaned them up and it worked straight away. Sadly, because its been "broken" for months, now my air-con needs regassing.

I'm quite NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD- off that I didn't realise that the problem started months ago after I first took the bumper off and disconnected the main wiring plug. If the penny had dropped I could probably have just cleaned it up back then. Stupid of me.

Now I have to find out why only one of my reversing lights works.
