Default Dog off lead?

Not sure if the dog in question was on the lead or not, I suspect not? However those of you who walk your dog off the lead please take a moment to reconsider. How would you feel if this happened and you best friend was not saved?

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-bristol-30629102

Please take care.

especially around iced over ponds

i had to rescue one of my dogs from the local pond after he walked onto the ice last year. he fell through into 2 foot of water!!

not the cleverest are spaniels though.

;-)

in all seriousness, it pays to be careful. i had to dive into the sea at blackpool once to save the other dog. she would normally have been able to get out herself but the sea wall gradiant was too slippery and she couldnt get a purchase. me to the rescue, fully clothed!!

:-)

Just thought i would revive this thread as winter is fast approaching.

Of course it also applies to children .
Ice on ponds can be very thin.
Be careful out there .

Ice on river when boating is applicable to me at the moment.

Off to the boat this weekend and starting to prep for winterisation whilst keeping use of her through the cold spell

Ice covered rivers are a big attraction in winter Jeff.
Fatalities happen every year .
Re your boat . Maybe you could fit a device to break the ice .
