Redex. I’ve got no positive proof of its abilities. Use it when it’s on offer.
Engine oil stop a leak. This does work. My weeping crank oil seal weeps no more on my L series diesel Streetwise.
K seal. Just avoid it at all costs.
There are no doubt more I’ve tried but can’t report on anything positive as I can’t remember. I’m sure I will think about more and post again.

Is K seal really that bad? I used it once after my mechanic blew up my Kia Sorento's engine, forgetting to add coolant after a turbo replacement: head warped, cracked. Couldn't drive anymore. Threw in K seal and could drive for another 600 miles until the header tank blew up (my own fault, there was still way too much compression leaking into the system, but it drove...). Then I replaced the motor.

I use Millers Ecomax in my diesel.
Seems to be perkier and smoother idle. I notice more if I don’t put enough in then run a treatment. Instant and noticeable difference

But with your care, I bet it would have lasted 500k on decent fuel and a bit of Forte or Millers every now and then. What a shame the car had to suffer for 250k miles!

Blackrose

Well, If you had stopped to consider the question that was asked, you would have noticed that Trikey has not answered it. The question was posed to all about what they do and Trikey answered it in terms of what he does (note - not what he considers the universally correct answer).

The rest of us are answering for our part.

You, on the other had, posted a response that did not answer the question but instead made a strange and irrelevant statement.

Retired yet so little wisdom - Rover ownership is not what it once was!

I always use Redex Injector cleaner. If you have a naturally aspirated engine I would recommend from my past experience to use Molyslip in the engine. Used this when it first came out and it really does work. DONT use it in a turbo engine unless you want to start buying new turbo’s. A test was carried out on turbo engines, and it was found that because of the heat inherent in the use of a turbo, the Molyslip returned to its natural state and your turbo was kaput.

I don't normally use additives, however I do fill her up with good quality fuel. (I don't go anywhere near supermarket fuel)

It all comes out of the same place! Don't be fooled by the "Shell" "BP" etc. (Other fuel names are available!).

It comes from the same place but doesn’t have the additives Shell BP etc use to enhance burning characteristics.

I use diesel magic twice a year, chuck it straight in the tank once per year & once if you are changing the fuel filter then stick direct into the fuel filter, as with forte start car for 25 seconds turn off and leave over night.

So to reiterate twice a year spring & Autumn this is my latest reading f my injectors.

As does water!

There was a thread on here some years ago where non-believers posted a link to a statement by AA CEO Edmund King to the effect that there is no difference between premium and other fuels. I pointed out that the results EK posted actually showed Shell V-Power gave a 7% better MPG than supermarket brands.

Do a search and you will see the results of their controlled testing.
