Default Never had such a car

My MGTF was put in my garage on 1st October last year & the battery disconnected & fully charged. This morning I reconnected the battery ready to get it out for the summer, put the key in the ignition, one click & it started immediately, brilliant little car!

Very good. Do you have the square key fob or the later oval fob?

Its the oval one, now discontinued Pektron type which is known to be unreliable. Up until now it has worked fine but I will need to take care as I only have one. I also understand that the 75 key fob can affect it rendering it useless so I have to make sure they are kept apart.

You've done well for the Pektron not to play up with the battery being disconnected. My old TF was a late car with the same system and it worked fine but like you say they do have a reputation!

Certainly terrific little cars, proper little go-karts.

On 1st November last year we put the hardtop on, totally transforms the car and gives a whole new look and feel. We have only just last week taken off the hardtop, and its certainly nice to see the glorious snooker green hood once again.

These cars have three different styles which transforms their appearance and ride, hood down, hood up, hardtop on, you can never get bored.

Bring on the sunshine...

As for starting, they seem to jump into action before you have finished turning the key.

My TF did the same too. 4 months with the battery off and fired up immediately. Proving to be a reliable car but then I bought it with all the right work done to it hence it’s what I was expecting. Hope I’m not tempting fate.
