I'm always amused at threads like this, why shouldn't any car carry out a journey like this

I filled up with fuel on Thursday last week, and again on Saturday, 688 miles.

I normally do anywhere between 800 and 1000 miles per week at the moment, however I don't find it surprising that the car is capable of this, why would I

Anyway, I'm glad you enjoyed the trip, it's what these cars excel at, long journeys

On my trip out the other day we played spot the car older than ours! 55 miles and three older than our and one of those was a bus!

Similarly, I did 410 miles in the teenagers' Corsa last weekend with three people on board. Car behaved perfectly, as it has done for the previous 4k miles since we've had it.

Because Sir, the age of the car and the likely hood of issues arising it is a pleasure for the car to exceed the progress of the 18 plate BMW with the hood up on the M6.....

"390 mile round trip" "30 mph M6 traffic from Birmingham all the way to Liverpool "(well that's 90 miles) "4 hours it took me"
...............................all equates to 300 mph? or am I missing something?

I still don't get it. In my 30 year's of driving, I have never thought about the prospect of the car having issues on a journey. This includes the years when I often covered 20k miles in a year.

As for the BMW, don't forget it will have been produced in far greater numbers in a single year than the 75/ZT's total production. I've seen a few 75/ZT cars with their bonnets up and abandoned in layby sections.
