Rog.
I'm better with a polisher than I am with a spanner .

Odd though, in my younger days it would have been fitted same day it was delivered! I managed an engine swap, clutch swap, numerous gear box swaps on my first car back when I was 19 or so. Now, I tend to overthink things: "what if it won't go back on", "What if I break something". Daft or what . All part of growing up and losing the confidence of youth I guess .

You might have meant it Trikey, but you didn't say it.

Who gives a toss?

The "overflow" was a completely unnecessary component and quite rightly deleted, as it served absolutely no practical purpose whatsoever.

The only real difference between a black expansion bottle and the later buff coloured one, is the early black version required the removal of the lid to check the level, rather than shining a torch through the plastic of the later version.

That was my conclusion after looking at it all. The handgrip on the caps vent the tank in both black and buff versions.

Nope, the modern term is ‘the tight fisted gets removed the masterbatch from the moulding process to save money’
