Default replaced fuel filter, now engine lumpy

Hi,

did regular service on the cdti a week ago, air, oil, fuel filter and oil.

It was fine for a few days then engine is a bit lumpy at low revs especially when cold. Acceleration is a bit hesitant when cold too. Revs not steady but fluctuating when idling, Its not a massive fluctuation but noticeable on the revs needle.

What you reckon it could be?

Did you fit one of those Crosland fuel filters that euros sell, if so replace it with a better quality one, I’ve seen them “self disrupt” cheap parts just ain’t worth it.

I would be double checking all disturbed hoses / connections during the filter swap for security...Any air being introduced would certainly upset things a bit.

Some cheap filters are really poor I came across this recently when I fitted one that a customer supplied.

It just wouldn't let fuel through, after 20 attempts to charge the filter it just wouldn't let enough pressure through for it to start.

Refitted the original one and it started after a couple of turns at bleeding it through.

I know yours isn't as bad but I'd try changing the filter for a good quality one and see if things improve

Use Land rover ones,

I think DMGRS also supplies these for less.

genuine Rover

Spray the connector with some contact cleaner also.
