Default Seatbelt mount

Something has gone a bit wrong with my upper seatbelt mount.

I moved the drivers seat forward to clean underneath it and as I did there was a "twang!" noise from the seatbelt mount and it dropped down to its lowest position.

It now doesn't move at all when the seat is adjusted and if manually pushed up it just flops back down again.

Im guessing a cable has snapped but haven't had a chance to look at it yet and ive never been inside that particular part if the cars innards before, any advice?

The seat is indeed connected by a cable to seat belt height adjuster in the B post, if yours no longer works, that'll be the problem, for the answer what to do now, see this link

Thanks, that's great information.

I suspect the cable has snapped/come off at the seatbelt end rather than under the seat though as I heard the twang as it went.

Looks like im going to have to get the b pillar trim off and have a look.

Unlikely to be the cable. There is a connecting pin that links the cable end to the seat. It's probably been dislodged, that all.
